Biscuits with Swiss Chocolate: The biscuit pioneer of Switzerland

Fritz-Werner Studer established his first biscuit bakery over 100 years ago in 1905 in Trimbach. But as photography was up and coming and interested him more, he passed the bakery on to his sons, Fritz and Paul Wernli. They became the Swiss pioneers of wafer production. In the 80s under the then company owner Fritz Wernli the legendary advertising slogan “I just like Wernli“ was created.

In 2008 HUG AG, the family company from Malters, took over Wernli. Since then they together guarantee the high Wernli quality and the use of the raw materials that are left as natural as possible and ensure that Wernli continues to be the best-known and most popular biscuit brand in Switzerland.

Swiss biscuit original

The processing of Swiss chocolate and the choicest fillings is today the core competence of Wernli. Jura Wafers, Choco Petit Beurre or Japonais are originals, which were developed by Wernli. In addition to the proven classics, there are continually new and clever creations in the Wernli range.
